After reading your comment on Facebook...Dear Frank,
After reading your comment on Facebook I began wondering why you had said that you missed my comments on your blogs, as I thought I had made comments on your posts the last couple of weeks even though I was away. But I am sad to see they are not here, even though I remember the two posts you wrote and that I had commented on them. I'm not sure what happened -- perhaps it had to do with my commenting from my laptop computer while traveling, and it not being recognized, although I do remember being asked "Comment as Laurie Collett?" to which I thought I checked the box.

Anyway, the church, or called-out body of believers, should be a loving family in which appropriate displays of affection should not only be permitted, but encouraged. May God bless you richly for letting His love flow through you. God bless, and I hope this comment "takes!"Laurie Colletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676088158113572565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-55471786483453468962017-09-09T03:43:12.506-07:002017-09-09T03:43:12.506-07:00Hi Frank, (and Alex)

The traditions of man are making void the Word of God in many 'church' gatherings. We are told that 'no man shall say 'know the Lord' for they shall all be taught by God. Going to a bible college is not the requirement to become a believer in Christ - being born of God's Holy Spirit is.
Do not worry about other people's rejection, all we can do is work out our own salvation and try to forgive those who despitefully use us or reject us, which means not keeping a record of wrongs done to us and endeavouring to be as kind as we can.
God bless you and Alex. The church should be one in Christ, with each local church being a church family. My husband and I are blessed to feel that the church where we now serve is truly a family, sharing one another's joys and carrying one another's burdens, and attempting to build up one another in Christian love. As a result of active community outreach, our church body includes people from all walks and social strsta of life, and embraces many different races and nationalities. But we had been in a church where cliques predominated and where we often felt ostracized instead of loved. I believe it is that type of hurt and disappointment that turns so many believers away from church and even from God, which, as you say, is a crying shame. I am thankful for our assistant pastor who often tears up with genuine grief as he delivers the eulogy for those saints who have gone home, without regard to their social standing or financial contributions. Praying that the love of Christ will shine in your church and in all our churches.
Thanks for the excellent post and God bless,
LaurieLaurie Colletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676088158113572565noreply@blogger.com
