Only God knows who they are. We can only come to know God's will through growth from being a baby in Christ to full maturity in Him. Biblical characters were named according to their personalities or what they would become, and the purpose of salvation is to become like Jesus,by renewing our minds in Him through the Holy Spirit's teaching. When something is done in 'Jesus name' it is not just a question of merely saying 'in Jesus name', it has to be done in the character of Christ. It is for His glory and on His instruction alone. I think there are many false 'christians' promoting themselves and others (worshipping the created instead of the Creator)in the church today, and this is prophesied. The parable of the wheat and the tares is a parable of the Kingdom. They are both allowed to grow together only for a time, before they are separated. We have to work out our own salvation, at the same time encouraging one another, but never promoting ourselves or others, only God and Jesus. Then,if we keep trying to be a 'doer' not just a 'hearer' we shall eventually hear those words 'Well done my good and faithful servant.'<br />BrendaBrendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16165344093549650260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-81347358967793778992012-04-30T11:43:47.685-07:002012-04-30T11:43:47.685-07:00I agree with what you've said here and fear th...I agree with what you've said here and fear that a great many who are viewed as Great Christians today will not be in heaven because they have never been humble enough to acknowledge their sin and ask Christ to save them, focusing on their own efforts instead. It seems that a majority are focused on making a good impression rather than on humbling themselves before God.Donald Fishgrabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11977970195032209188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-24720281154778142522012-04-29T21:50:40.514-07:002012-04-29T21:50:40.514-07:00Awesome analysis, Frank. I look around and see many people who are so much "holier" than I am and it saddens me. Am I not doing enough for the Lord? I am actively seeking His will and trusting Christ for salvation but there is just always that nagging doubt. I know that it has no foundation, but I believe it will probably never fully go away. I want to hear Christ say "Well done, good and faithful servant."Stanleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11160075242848709012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-39514023872607330982012-04-29T18:51:55.477-07:002012-04-29T18:51:55.477-07:00Excellent post dealing with a difficult passage. A...Excellent post dealing with a difficult passage. As you say, one is either eternally saved or not saved at all. Our pastor has been preaching a great series called "Kept" on the doctrine of eternal security. Only a sinner who realizes he needs a Savior and puts his heartfelt faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, Son of God, as the only way to Heaven can be saved. Once he does that, nothing can pluck him out of the double grip of Jesus' hand being held by the Father's hand. Jesus died and rose again so that all who trust Him would have eternal life. If we could lose our salvation, how could we receive eternal life?<br />God bless,<br />LaurieLaurie Colletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676088158113572565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-90969342648058895532012-04-29T18:48:34.898-07:002012-04-29T18:48:34.898-07:00Very real and meaningful.Very real and meaningful.Follower of Godhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09210968424613574536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5412187929957069944.post-67741644543448036892012-04-29T09:50:05.785-07:002012-04-29T09:50:05.785-07:00Really good post Frank.Really good post Frank.T-Childshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14973808285834438472noreply@blogger.com
